Seems like the fate of many forums with a chit chat section , I blame it on assebook & idioter  ,like do I need to see a pic of some ones dinner etc
maybe Win 10 will produce  some  posts ? ,
my beef at the moment is with Adobe Flash player , will we ever be free of it ,
also for me computers are a winter thing , indeed make hay while the sun shines is my motto ,

Yeah my yearly line rental expires early Aug. I keep looking for something better, maybe fibre which is supposed to be end October.

Rocco,

I'm waiting to claim free W10 at the end of the month. Have the preview on a tablet and quite impressed. However there probably be problems / dislikes for lot when installed.

I'm still here. One post and the flood gates open!  :))

I'm on leave this week, but haven't been any further than Argate, the weather has been a bit hit and miss at this resort  ;)

Thomas and KRW -  I presume you have both had notification that the cost of Plusnet's Line Rental Saver is going up in September from 155.88 to 185.88, so only a 18 saving over the year. I am now out of contract with the broadband, but my line rental saver covers to the end of October, although I have been very happy with the fibre, there are a lot of good deals about and I'm not sure if I want to tie myself into a 12 month telephone contract for the sake of 18.

I notice Sky are offering "free" fibre for a year if you take their line rental (16.40 /month) but it's up to 38Mb and there's a 25GB usage cap, so that's no good for me.

Someone on HotUKDeals posted that Plusnet were price matching SSE deals for existing customers, so I thought I'd give it a go myself this afternoon. I rang retentions and told them I wanted to leave due to the price hikes and had found a better deal with SSE. They asked what the deal was, 76 Meg fibre 12.50 for 24 months and 12.00 line rental, I was paying 19.99 for broadband and would be paying 15.49 equivalent for line rental upfront. They matched the deal without any hassle, but said I would be tied in for 24 months, which I don't have a problem with. Definitely worth a call!

Yep that is a good deal, pity I don't have fibre yet (Oct 31). I'll have look for their ADSL product if they have one.
