Anyone here on EE ?
« on: 25 August 2014, 14:18:24 »

As I mentioned a few days ago in another thread, the EE app I downloaded and installed on my mobile is a waste of time.

Does anyone know if EE send you a text when you are close to your data allowance ?

Mine is a 2 GB limit.

Cheers in advance for any feedback.

I just rang customer service and was told that you can't rely on text messages to warn you but EE won't let you go over your data allowance as it is capped which is reassuring!

ermm... Android has data management in it...you can set warning then completely disable data when X is reached  :)

Yeah but it may be calculated differently from EE !

In any case I will activate it when my data allowance renews on the 11th of every month no point in setting a data limit now as I don't know how much data I've used so far lol

I've heard different things about the so called data cap on EE. Some say they cap, some say they dont. Just be careful though as they charge 8 per MB of you do!

Have you registered with EE on line Curly as i can get the app to tell me how much I've used when i log in to it.

We've just switched both our contracts from T Mobile to EE. Both got a final bill for ~67 for allegedly going 8MB over. They give you a pro-rata allowance, mine was 957MB, i used 154MB in the month. I've been away so only found out when they'd already taken the DD. Have to wait 14 days for them to look into it >:(

Surely you mean per GB not per MB  ???

Yes but it doesn't tell me my data usage only that I have unlimited calls and texts  :-\

How did you find that out? I had been looking everywhere for this information and couldn't find it.

I got a great deal on EE with a HTC One M8. Only thing is, I don't like the phone, it's back in the box and I'm back on my Nexus which I love. I can't sell it for 6 months, so i either learn to like it or sell it in February.

I've been on sim only contract for many years now, the saving I make I put away to buy a sim free phone of my choice.  Currently with Tesco (O2) and been considering move to 3 at end of year but have notice sim only contracts have steadily increasing for example at begin of the year a 3 contract was 12.9 now 18. This trend with all operators,my tesco is 12.50 now would be 20. The gap between sim only and with phone contracts is closing.

This is my first contract including a phone. I was on SIM only for a few years previously. I used to do the same and buy my own phone, i bought the Nexus from the Play Store when they were selling them off last year.

Wish i hadn't now as I'm saddled with this contract for 2 years and a phone i don't like. The deal was too good to miss though.

I can't understand why it is easy to monitor data usage on Orange either online on their website or using the mobile app but on EE you can't monitor it online or on the EE mobile app as the data is never available  ???

My workmate is with Orange and he never has any problems  >:(

I registered with the EE Community forum but the issue is still ongoing and it's not just me as it has happened to loads of other EE customers.
