Well the PC was taken 2 mins to 2 1/2 mins to fire up compared to shade over 1 min when it was first installed. Reading other members saying how quick their PC's load with a SSD drive I decided to buy one, got a Crucial MX100 256Gb from Scan.

Very impressed how quick it is with the OS (W7  64 HP) it was 15 seconds to load, now with most of my programs installed (mi lads games yet to be installed) it's 25 seconds from switch on to use.

Going to get 2 more SSD drives one each for my lads PC's.

Problem is, it feels awesome at first. After two weeks you get so used to it. Psychologically it becomes slow again.  lol:1

As long from a cold start the PC is below one minute I'll be happy.

i dont find that too be true...ive been in the SSD club for almost 2 years and i still marvel at how the desktop appears before the windows logo can even take form... yet i still use sleep hehe - just cos i want INSTANT access and it uses less than 1w in sleep

did u get the 256Gb model - i see it only has 330MB/s write - I read an article which said we spend 85% of the time writing to disk...i cant fathom how thats true...

anyway it looks like the prices of SSD's may be going up slightly as the Samsung EVO 250Gb model was 79 and is now 90
