Plusnet TV with Netgear modem/router

Hey all,

I'm trying to assist a user on another forum in setting up a Netgear modem/router to use his Plusnet TV.

He said he has tried following the steps on the user manual but cannot get it to work.

Does anyone use one of the netgear VDSL modem routers along side Plusnet TV and if so, How did you get it to work?

I don't have plusnet tv but use a different router/modem to what plusnet provide with no issues, all you do is put all user details in relevant pats of the config panel on the netgear

He has done that but it won't allow plusnet tv to work (Youview). Something needs changed with IPTV settings and IGMP/Multiplexing I believe.

He called plusnet who told him to call YouView instead for port forwarding.

Do we know which router he is using ? not all routers support multicast without a firmware upgrade.

Yes, its the new Netgear d7000, previously had the same issue with the d6400.

Yeah he tried that. I've given him the contact details if Netgear support engineers specifically for the d7000 and they wrote a test firmware for him to try which didn't work. Apparently they are awaiting the UK Netgear guy to come back from holiday to walk him through the setup.

There are a couple of threads on plusnet forums and kitz regarding these routers and iptv with no solution in sight it seems, my guess is that it will need a complete rewrite of the firmware to get it to work.

I'm in touch with a Netgear engineer who is writing a test firmware as we speak. Hopefully have it out shortly.
There is a guy on OC forums who has it running on his D6400 but he has just said to follow the manual.
