Not sure I fully understand the results , sure a green tick or a red X is obvious ,
but what's the grey boxes for , presumably not tested ? ,which for Symantec
must be a bit odd ,
anyway good to see avast is up there ( presumably the paid for version)
seems it got 1 red X from early 2013 ,

edit to add Bitdefender looks promising  , anyone using it ?
BTW I am using the free Avast at the moment

every time ive used recent versions of it BitDef its slowed and crashed the machine...

Kaspersky is the one that scores best on ALL testers

you should be aware that the VB100 award simply means it detected the 100 most common viruses at the date of testing without any false positives (GREEN TICK) - if it completed all 100 tests but found ANY false positives its a (FAIL) ..

VB100 certification
The VB100 award is a certification of products which meet the basic standards required to be recognised as legitimate and properly functioning anti-malware solutions.

To display a VB100 logo, a product must:

prove it can detect 100% of malware samples listed as 'In the Wild' by the WildList Organization
generate no false positives when scanning an extensive test set of clean samples
All this must be done with default, out-of-the-box settings in the VB lab environment.

All solutions tested are submitted for testing by their developers. Full procedures of the certification scheme can be found here, with detailed test methodology here.

If it performs that badly it's a wonder it sells many copies !

I am with Kaspersky. I am on my third year with them and am very happy with their protection especially on infected websites containing malware.
