Panasonic GT50 Plasma TV.

Just ordered one of these from John Lewis, it arrives next Friday.

Got it on a price match for 719.99 ( With Bennetts )

OK, I know that it is last years model, but I am not bothered about that.

http://www.avforums.com/reviews/Panasonic-GT50-TX-P50GT50B-P42GT50-42-50-Inch-Full-HD-3D-Plasma-TV_287/Review.html

It has both Freviiew HD and Freesat HD tuners built in, I am not bothered about 3D, I am more interested in the normal picture quality.

Any comments/observations welcome?

Well the Panny arrived earlier,  it actually weighs less than my old Phillips 42" Plasma.

All set up and working, picture quality on SD material is excellent, on HD stuff, it is stunning, sound quality is OK, par for the course.  Lovely natural skin tones and deep blacks.

Wireless internet is connected and working, as are both Freesat and Freeview tuners.

So far so good, more fine tuning and messing to do. ;)

It is slightly reflective Tom, all Plasma's are, but it is in a corner with no windows reflecting on it, so not a problem.

Still tinkering ...  ;)

Same here.

My TV is 32" too but I am loathe to get a bigger screened TV until it packs in !

My mate has a 42" plasma TV and I sometimes notice that but it isn't too bad really.

Perhaps this little niggle will disappear in time as the plasma technology improves ?

Found a Panasonic Vierra App that allows an " Android " device to act as a remote control for the TV, it also allows for photo's, video's and audio tracks stored on the Android item to be played on the TV.

It is also capable of playing the TV channels on to the Android unit, but I have not worked out how to do that yet.

Apparently the TV has a dual core processor built in..  :o

All a bit too 21st century for me. lol:1

Nice  :)

I have the Panny G20 from a couple of years ago, and it's a cracking piece of kit.  The one you have is even better, what with the Infinite Black effort, etc.

If you want the best from it - head over to AV Forums, where there will be an Owner's Thread - they will tell you how to 'run it in'  ;)
