diz:5 one topic on this great forum that alludes me ,
I got to confess I don't own one , haven't for 23 years ,  how the hell do you guys find time to watch the goggle box ? , maybe it's me,? last film I watched  at the cinema was easy rider ,
the one before was Walt Disney's Bambi ,  as a 7 year old I cried when Bambi's Mom got shot ,

folk today tell me not having a TV is a good thing as it's crap ,?
could you live without a zillion TV channels ? and join the fast growing 6% without ?
it's a bit like giving up smoking , the first year is hell ,after that  just one vote on ex factor
and you could be hooked again,  lol:1

To be honest i could do with out TV it doesn't bother me that much, but the wife can't it's on from 7am to 10pm most days, i much prefer radio i used to listen to the likes of radio Caroline and others on the old AM band when i got board with that it was on to the shortwave band to have a search, them were the days  :)

OK thanks on that, " i class them all as mine" respect for that also,
I just started young, my ex wife was only 16teen , ( far to young for both of us )
she maybe my ex , but we are still best of friends , life is far to short to have a grudge ,
maybe Vicky Price should have learnt that, ? ,

I have a TV, but I refuse point blank to pay Murdoch >:D for Sky, so I have Freeview and Freesat, never have it on in the day time.

You still pay with a TV licence. Considering a number of Sky channels are on Freeview.

Seriously? he's quite respectable from what I remember leaving school. Teenagers getting pregnant at 14 - 16 to leave school and to get social care/housing back in 96.

To think back how messed up I remember school back then. Love was not important, it was a fashion on who got laid first.

Indeed, but I do not pay anything to the evil Murdoch  >:D empire directly.

I could quite happily live without the ( repeated ) Sky rubbish that is broadcast on Freeview / Freesat. ;)

Not directly but it's still syphoned off other ways once they get it. So you're still effectively doing it. Can't be helped.

Sickening this stuff though.

Heck , haven't had a TV or paid for a licence for 23 years , don't ask what happened to the money though,
but I still get the entertainment of the licensing enforcers visits , it goes like a Monty Python sketch , lol:1
it used to be annually, now reduced to every 4 years ,  with the occasional have your circumstances changed in a  dire threatening letter ,  at least they ring the doorbell and don't use the enforcer ram ,( yet )
had to smile on their last visit , the door bell rang , I opened the door , nobody there !,
I glanced down and there he was all 4'8" of him , while I am 6'2" and standing 2 steps up in my doorway,
thought for a minuet he might bite my ankle ,  :))

There was a news item on bbc breakfast this morning quoting the number of tvs per household had dropped from something like 2.3 to 1.8 since 2011. A spokesman from tv licensing saying in part it was due to more watching catchup on tablets and smartphones. Also stated that a license is only required if you watch "live TV" or watch recording made of live TV, watching streamed previously shown live programs (bbc iplayer, on demand) does not not require a license.
I can see that it won't belong before these will be pay and view as there will not be enough License fees coming in.
