...in bits...

well... its been years since i installed windows and probably over 200 programs, its no wonder im running issues as the days go on.... and well.. i just cant be arsed to reinstal it, yes I got my backups but ive a feeling theres corruption beyond that, should of been on from day 1

PROBLEMS:

1.my MAIL app has suddenly started to shut itself down when I try to use it, I read a corrupt user account can cause this...right enough on new user account it worked - thing is I recall setting a lot of apps to "just me" when installing them, yes i could just create a new profile and move everything over (which would take several hours)

2. my Opera browser seems to have a hissy fit now and again, freezing and it seems to happen when I use HOXX Proxy Addon, once i use that SOMETIMES the browser freezes

3. KODI does not shutdown most the time...with the problem above im constantly finding myself in Task Manager closing shit down.

tried THUNDERBIRD and what a terrible application, it has to be officially the worlds worst email program - spent hours trying to set the better view and failed to stop it preventing images in email, sorting was ridiculous and where the options are located is stupid (if you had it you would know what i mean)

I dont know whether to create a new account or restore from 3 days ago

well turned out that creating a 2nd account was just as hard as reinstalling - so i used eausus backup & recovery and its worked a charm (phew!) may have cost few hundred GBs of writes on my ssd but so what

the only diff from today and 3 days ago was installing a few programs (which are now gone)

obviously i will still have some issues...(Kodi/Opera) but ive been living with those 2 issues for months now I can live with it....

uninstall Kaspersky free (which has a mail scanning module) and it SEEMS to be working, thing is i tried this yesterday (no av replacement either) and it still failed, only difference is ive restored to 3 days previous and installed Bit-Defender free in its place

if it continues to work i cant help but wonder what Kasperksys problem is? is it an AV for a PC that has almost no applications on it> ?   or did bit-defender create a hole that needs now plugged by it for mail to work?

...has long think.....
note to self:  stop using Revo uninstaller and leave the registry alone

I always thought cos it had a SAFE mode meant that it wouldnt check reg entries that it wasnt 100% certain on, althhough TBH I have used moderate sometimes on some harsh apps and could of been some cross-company 'accidental' reg entry removal(s)

still like firefox with no script & Adblock plus , Thunderbird handles my  email addresses  & and wont open email links in my browser , ( cut & paste job ) not  bothered about tracking ,  for being hacked ?
my computer  is open house to all , nothing about me  even M/soft  have no clue to my identity ,
and I don't bank on line etc , even my local walk in bank  has my address but not my real name ,
hey, years back I worked for the military ,d  ;)  , yes at times  my aliases take some remembering
not helped by not having a birth cert etc  ,  well maybe the 3rd Riech  has burried under some rubble ,
downside to my secrete squirrel life , I cant claim any social  benefits etc , In my case brexit could get interesting ,  C:-)

you dont want to claim any social benefits mate.. not worth the misery thats thrown upon you trying to get them and upkeep - much rather have a job - unfortunately health and no driving license (and now expensive living and location) keep my work options extremely limited

im looking to renew my license and go in for bike (moped...for starters)...cheap
